Hey there, I’m Odera Adimorah. I’m a performer working and living in New York City.
I am of Nigerian descent and a graduate of Columbia University, School of the Arts. When I am not creating theatre I enjoy reading, boxing, dancing and traveling.
My ideal as an artist is to create stories that reflect my lived experience as an African living in America; unearthing the otherness and alienation experienced in one’s home country as well as one’s country of immigration.
I am interested in exploring the points of intersection between spirituality, sexuality, family, society, tradition, the occult. I am creating to make sense of the world I live in, to learn and relearn and relearn my history in an everchanging world.
In the words of Frantz Fanon: ‘In the world through which I travel, I am endless creating myself.”
